This Privacy Policy explains how Elementa (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where it applies.
By using Elementa, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
When you use Elementa, you may provide the following information:
- Profile information, such as your name or nickname.
- Birth data, including birth date, birth time, birth location (latitude and longitude) and time zone, which we use to calculate your natal chart and elemental scores.
- Wellness preferences, such as which recommendation categories (tea, oil, color, activity, food) you enable for notifications.
- Support communications, including the content of messages and any information you choose to include when you contact us.
2.2 Information processed via our backend
Elementa uses a backend service to calculate elemental scores and wellness recommendations from your birth data and, where applicable, daily transits:
- Request data: birth date, time, location, time zone, and elemental scores you provide through the app are sent to our FastAPI backend solely for the purpose of performing the requested calculations.
- Technical logs: our backend may record technical logs such as error messages, timestamps, approximate country (based on IP), and other diagnostic information in order to maintain and improve the Service. We do not intentionally use these logs to build user profiles.
2.3 Information stored locally on your device
The app stores certain information locally using iOS storage mechanisms (for example, UserDefaults), including:
- Your stored profile (name, birth data, natal elemental scores).
- The date when you last fetched a daily prescription.
- Your choices regarding notification categories.
This information remains on your device unless you clear it from within the app or uninstall the app.
2.4 Subscription and purchase information
Elementa uses RevenueCat and the Apple App Store’s billing infrastructure to manage subscriptions and purchases. Through these services, we may receive:
- Non‑financial purchase information (for example, product identifiers, active subscription status, expiration dates, and anonymized identifiers).
- Limited device or account identifiers necessary to link your purchases to your device or Apple ID.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
2.5 Advertising and analytics information
On the free tier, Elementa uses Google AdMob to display ads. As part of this, AdMob may collect and process:
- Device identifiers and advertising identifiers.
- Information about your interactions with ads.
- General information about your device and app usage.
Depending on your region and platform settings, you may be able to control whether ads are personalized using your device‑level advertising preferences. For more details, please refer to Google’s own privacy documentation.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:
- Performance of a contract: to provide the core Elementa features you request, such as calculating your elemental scores and generating recommendations.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain and improve the Service, secure our backend, detect and correct errors, and prevent misuse.
- Consent: for sending optional local notifications, and where required by law, for using advertising identifiers and serving personalized ads.
- Compliance with legal obligations: to comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To calculate natal and transit elemental scores and generate daily prescriptions.
- To customize and display wellness recommendations based on your elemental profile.
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service and its reliability.
- To manage subscriptions, purchases and access to premium features.
- To display advertising in the free version of the app.
- To send optional local notifications you choose to enable.
- To respond to your questions, requests and feedback.
- To protect the security and integrity of our systems and to prevent abuse.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy or as required by law.
- Local profile data on your device is kept until you delete it from within the app or uninstall the app.
- Backend request data and technical logs are retained for a limited period to ensure the security and reliability of the Service and may be aggregated or anonymized for longer‑term analysis.
- Subscription and billing data are retained by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their own policies and legal obligations.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Our servers and some of our service providers may be located in countries outside your own, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right of access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to request deletion of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to object to or restrict certain processing activities.

- Clearing your local Elementa profile from within the app or by uninstalling the app.
10. Children’s privacy
Elementa is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps to delete the information.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. In case of material changes, we may provide additional notice within the app or by other appropriate means.
Your continued use of Elementa after an update means that you accept the revised Policy.
